When My Love Calls

Image by Bingo Naranjo from Pixabay | FOR REPRESENTATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY

When the night is blooming
In the realm of its own artistry,
A spec of moonlight
Dares to caress your charming face;
Almost instantly,
I stoop to plant a kiss
On your sleepy lips.
It’s that moment when my love callsโ€ฆ
A love that refuses to outgrow!

Then, as the day breaks
And the sun’s aureole glow
Begins to spread its wings,
You sit beside me
Pouring in my cup
Lemon tea
that you make
with practiced expertise.
Just the way I like it!
It’s that moment again
When my love callsโ€ฆ
A love that refuses to outgrow!

When the tables are turned
Or when feeling the blueโ€ฆ
You know,
And I know too
That familiar terrain of comfort
Where we rush to gather
That unbridled feeling,
A feeling purer than gold!
Again, it’s that moment
When my love callsโ€ฆ
A love that refuses to outgrow!

When we have to succumb to the will of time,
You or I will have to fly
To an abode different and high.
Still my love will call
to help recall
those moments of love,
A love that refused to outgrow!
